What “Stress” Really Means (and Why It’s Not What You Think)
We use the word stress so casually that it’s lost its edges. Once upon a time, it described the tension placed on a physical (steel) object: the pull, the strain, the push against its structure.
Humans, of course, aren’t made of steel. Yet we talk about stress as if we’re built for pressure instead of connection.
What if we thought of the symptom cascade we typically call “stress” as information: a whisper from the body that something’s off-kilter? The next time you feel it rising, pause. Notice your shoulders. Your breath. Your “fourth left toe” as my mentor suggests. What story is your body telling you before your mind catches up?
In my free workinar, Kick Your Overwhelm to the Curb (coming next Nov 19, 2025 @ 10 AM ET), we’ll explore these micro-moments and how they connect to productivity, purpose, and self-trust.
Because you’re not a machine. You’re a masterpiece in motion: and your body’s signals are worth decoding.
